Welcome to the San Antonio Chapter DAR
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a non-profit, non-political volunteer service organization made up of over 175,000 members with 3,000 chapters. These chapters are located in all fifty states and in many countries around the world. On October 11, 1890, eighteen women met to officially organize the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) for historic, educational, and patriotic purposes. Since that day, over 800,000 members have been admitted into membership.
The San Antonio Chapter was founded in 1910. The chapter has spent over 100 years celebrating its American heritage through activities to promote patriotism, good citizenship, and an awareness of American history. The chapter currently has seventy active members.
